WildArt Photographer of the Year Winners - BACKYARD
BACKYARD was the competition category theme for August, the design of Rebecca Nason. We received 949 entries into this contest, which sought to celebrate the wildlife close to our homes, the very subjects we all turned to during Covid-enforced lockdowns. We received a wide range of subjects and some incredible images. Many congratulations to all our winners featured here, but especially Jan Piecha from Germany for his beautiful image of Balkan Anemones which has won our Gold Award in this category. As well as winning £500 Jan books a place in our grand final at the end of the year giving him the chance to become our very first WildArt Photographer of the Year winner. Rebecca’s conservation cause is Hillswick Wildlife Sanctuary, a small wildlife sanctuary on the Shetland Isles - learn more about Hillswick here. The competition raised a total of £185.40 through a percentage of competition entry fees. Thanks to all who entered BACKYARD and helped us to raise this money for conservation. Please watch our awards presentation to see all the images and hear what our judge Rebecca and the winners have to say.
